Tennessean man files wrongful death suit against DuPont over Asbestos Exposure
Roger Neely filed a wrongful death lawsuit again DuPont chemical plant and 20 other companies for the death of his mother, Ruby Neely, who died from mesothelioma, an asbestos-related cancer.
Roger Neely filed the lawsuit on behalf of his mother, Ruby, alleging that her cancer was caused by asbestos fibers being carried home on his father’s work clothes while he was employed at DuPont for nearly 20 years.
Lively Neely worked at a local DuPont plant for nearly 20 years, exposing both himself and his family to asbestos fibers. He reached a settlement with DuPont during the 1980s before he passed away from an asbestos-related illness. While working at the plant, he was exposed to asbestos insulation and asbestos-laden equipment.
Neely’s lawsuit claims that DuPont failed to warn employees of the potential dangers of working with asbestos and that asbestos fibers could be carried home on employee’s clothes and hair. Secondhand asbestos exposure has affected thousands of families with relatives who worked with asbestos. Consequently, numerous lawsuits similar to Roger Neely’s have been filed against the company.
The primary cause of mesothelioma is exposure to asbestos. Prognosis is generally poor, as mesothelioma symptoms often imitate those of other illnesses. If you or a loved one have been exposed to asbestos, please contact Drug Alert Updates for additional information.
